Private Nine Miles and Dunn’s River Falls Tour from Montego Bay

Nine Miles and Dunn’s River Falls Combo Tour is a combination of Jamaica’s musical history with the natural beauty of the island #1 attraction, the Dunn’s River Falls.

Our morning pickup from your hotel takes you on a 2-hours journey along the picturesque North Coast Highway, then high up in the mountains to the community of Nine Niles, in St. Ann, with a rest stop in the historic town of Discovery Bay.  Arriving at Nine Miles, you will be checked in and go the bar area where your tour guide will be introduced and begin his tour at that area. You will be given a tour of the house that Bob was born in, a tour of a room filled with memorabilia where you can take pictures of them, before coming to a stop at the entertainment stand where a live band will be performing some popular Bob Marley songs. Next, you will walk up to Mt. Zion, where you will be given a tour of the small house that Bob lived in after moving from the house he was born in. Up next is a tour of his mausoleum where you will take off your shoes before going inside to see the King of Reggae tomb, after which you guide will have a few minutes sit-down session where he will pass on information about the live of Bob and his musical journey from Nine Miles to Legendary status, his family, his children, and to answer any questions you may have. The tour ends after coming from Mt. Zion, then you will leave for you next tour.

Dunn’s River Falls is one of Jamaica’s national treasures and is famous around the world. At about 180 feet (55 m) high and 600 feet (180 m) long, the waterfalls are naturally terraced like giant natural stairs, and it empties directly into the Caribbean Sea. Arriving at Dunn’s River, your driver/guide will park in the car park where you can leave all your belongings in the vehicle, or you can take them with you and rent a locker.  A 1-2-hours tour of the falls begins with having you checked in, walk approximately 5-minutes from the park to the falls area where you will be greeted by falls guide. They will offer to take you on the falls and guide you from the bottom all the way to the top (highly recommended).

At the start, you will form a human chain with other small group of visitors, with your guide at the head, and begin you climb stopping occasionally at mini pools and mini jacuzzies for dips, mini water slides for slides and mini waterfalls for a good water massage, while your guide take your pictures and videos with your phone. There will be professional photographers on the falls who will take your pictures and videos with your permission, and you can purchase it at the end of the tour if you wish to.

If you cannot make it to the top of the falls, there are exits along the way for you to opt out of climbing. After finishing climbing the falls, you will make your way back up to the park, walk through the craft shopping area and exit to make you way to the car park to your vehicle.

Nine Miles Tour. A 1-hour guided tour of Bob Marley’s birth and final resting place. The tour begins at the bar area with the tour guide giving you the history of the community, Bob’s father and mother, give you a tour of the house Bob was born in, a tour of a room with memorabilia and a stop at the entertainment stand where a live band will perform some of Bob’s popular songs and you can join in.

Next you will walk up to Mt. Zion and given a tour of the house Bob grew up in after moving from the first house, before going into his mausoleum. Your guide will than have a little sit-down session where he will talk about the life and music journey, Bob’s family and children among other things. Your tour ends after coming from Mt. Zion.

Dunn’s River Falls. A 1- 2-hours tour at the Dunn’s River Falls can rejuvenate you after the long drive up and down the mountain road. Upon entering the park, you will have an approximately 5-minutes’ walk to get to the falls. You will meet falls guides who will offer to assist you in climbing the falls (highly recommended) and you tip them at the end. 

You will form a human chain at the beginning of the climb with your guide at the front to begin your climb. The guide will stop occasionally for you to take dips in several mini pools, slide down mini water slides and stand under several mini waterfalls to get a water massage, while singing and making jokes all the way to the top. There will be professional photographers on the trip who will do videos and pictures with your permission, and you can purchase it at the end of the tour.
