Private Luminous Lagoon Night Tour from Montego Bay

The Luminous Lagoon is on of Jamaica’s natural nightly attractions located in Falmouth, approximately 30-45-minute drive from Montego Bay. A trip to Luminous Lagoon will be an unforgettable experience as you will be seeing and swimming in one of the largest and most famous bioluminescent lagoons in the world. Enjoy a short boat ride into the middle of the lagoon for this memorable experience. Listen as your boat captain tells you the history of the town of Falmouth, the Martha Brae River and its environment along with the causes and effects of the lagoon while you make your way out.

Be amazed at the streak of light behind the boat as the engine disturbed the water going out. On reaching the middle of the lagoon, your captain will drop the leader and those who want to swim can climb down and swim. Enjoy this natural phenomenon as you experience the water lights up around you with every movement of your body. Make splashes and see the area lights up with every droplet of water. There will be photographers on board to capture pictures and videos of you for a fee. After getting back from the lagoon, there will be a fire-limbo show for your entertainment. (optional to watch).

A 30-45-minute drive along the Rose Hall Main Road to the town of Falmouth, then to the community of Rock for the Luminous Lagoon Night Tour. On arrival, you will be checked in, shown the male and female rest rooms and changing rooms, before going to the bar for your complimentary beverages of rum punch or fruit punch. You will then sit and wait for it to get dark enough for the tour to begin. You can sit in the restaurant area or on the outside near the dock.

As soon it is dark enough for the tour, an announcement will be made with the color and number of your armbands with instructions to board a particular boat. The boat captain/tour guide will assist you onto the boat and leave out for the middle of the lagoon when enough people is on it. On your way out he will tell you the history of Falmouth and surrounding communities, the reason why the lagoon glows and tell you the other countries that similar lagoons are. 

On reaching the middle of the lagoon, he will drop anchor, issue life vest to people who will swim and drop the ladder for you to climb down into the water. You can swim around in the water and watch it lights up around you with your every movement. People who will not swim can watch and be amazed a how bright the water glows. on returning to the dock, you will be treated to a fire-limbo show, before leaving for your hotel.
