Renowned throughout the world for its full, intensely flavorful pot still rums, Hampden Estate continues today to be the quintessential heavy pot still rum of choice.
Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling rum for almost three centuries in the parish of Trelawny, historically known as the grand cru of Jamaican rum. Produced with unique and partly secret methods that have remained unchanged since the 18th century, Hampden Estate rum has a distinct and iconic aromatic profile.
During World War 1, Hampden constructed the Hampden Wharf in Falmouth for shipment of its sugar and rums which is today a major entry port for some of the world’s largest cruise ships such as RCL “Harmony, Symphony and Oasis of The Seas” Additionally, the wharf facilities currently serve now as a major tourist hub.
A 2-hour guided tour of this facility will give you vast knowledge of the rum making process to include a session where an expert will talk about the entire process from planting, to bottling some of Jamaica’s finest rums.
