The Green Grotto Caves are located on the scenic North Coast of Jamaica in the town of Discovery Bay, just over 3 km from the spot where Christopher Columbus landed in 1494. The caves were sought after as a hideout by the Spanish during the takeover of the island by the English in 1655 and is said to have been a haven for runaway slaves in the 18th Century.
A 1-hour walking tour with your trained and experienced tour guide will take you on an adventure through the Caves’ inner beauty with its series of interconnected passageways and chambers, light holes, majestic stalactites and stalagmites. Continue down some 37 meters to the cave’s innermost carven, where you will come upon the Grotto… with water as translucent as nothing you have ever seen before! On your way out, stop at the “Wishing Well” and throw in a coin – for luck, for love or all your heart’s desires.
Montego Bay
Your driver will be at your hotel approximately 10-15 minutes before your scheduled pickup time. It is best to wait in the hotel lobby or on the outside of the lobby by the door. Your driver/guide will have your information.
Your tour begins with a scheduled morning hotel pickup in Montego Bay for 1-hour drive to the Green Grotto Caves in Discover Bay. On arrival you will receive your ticket and assigned a tour guide who will take you on a walking adventure through the caves’ inner beauty with its series of interconnected passageways and chambers, light holes, majestic stalactites and stalagmites.
Your tour will take you some 37 meters to the cave’s innermost cavern and will come to an end at the wishing well, where you will exit and make your way back to the main building.
We will pick you up at your Montego Bay hotel for your approximately 1-hour drive to the Green Grotto Caves located in Discovery Bay. Leaving your hotel, your driver will drive you through the town of Montego Bay (depending on the location of your hotel) along the Elegant Corridor to Falmouth, passing Duncans, Braco and into to Discovery Bay.
Arriving at the attraction, you will be checked in and be assigned to a tour guide who will take you on a walking tour of the caves. Your walking tour takes you on a 45-1-hour adventure where you will view series of interconnected passageways and chambers, lights holes, majestic stalactites and stalagmites, the Grotto with translucent water and a wishing well on your journey out. Your exploration comes to an end at the exit of the caves. At the exit. you will be able to take pictures sitting on a bench with a signboard above it. You will then walk back to the main building where your driver will be waiting for you.

Upon completion of your 1-hour walking tour of the caves, and you have finished taking pictures, it is time to board your vehicle for your return trip to your Montego Bay hotel. You will travel on the same route you came along the North Coast Highway back to Montego Bay.
Your driver/guide will drop you off at your Montego Bay hotel on or a few minutes after the scheduled time depending on traffic situation.
